FREE Tyre Checks

Checking your tyres regularly - at least once a month - is essential.  You need to be checking the condition, pressure and tread depths of each tyre.

Condition

Check for any lumps, bumps or objects sticking into the tyres; if you spot any of these, please visit us as soon as possible.  Remove any stones caught in the tread and monitor for signs of perishing (cracks inbetween the tread blocks).

Pressure

Information on your vehicles recommended tyre pressures can be found in the handbook or on a sticker, either on the fuel cap or door jamb.  If you're still unsure, give us a call on 01225 706646 and we can provide you with this information.

If you notice your tyres are losing pressure, please visit us as soon as possible.  Never drive a car with under inflated tyres - this will damage the tyre beyond repair and is also dangerous.

Tread

For cars, the legal minimum tread depth, in the UK, is 1.6mm over the central three-quarters of the tyre breadth.  However, most manufacturers recommend replacing tyres when they reach a tread depth of 3mm, due to grip reduction.

If you notice your tyres are close to the legal limit or would like us to measure this for you, please visit us.

We offer FREE tyre checks which cover these three aspects.  Please visit us if you have any concerns about your tyres, we are more than happy to help.
